Always a tough find, Green Bay Packers tickets are again one of the hottest tickets in the NFL. Thats because Brett Favre is back to lead the Pack. The veteran signal caller took his time in deciding whether to return for a 16th season. But he liked what he saw from the team during the offseason and is poised to lead the Packers on another playoff run. After last years struggles, Green Bay added numerous key players, highlighted by cornerbacks Charles Woodson and Al Harris. They also drafted a pair of talented linebackers in Ohio States A.J. Hawk and Iowas Abdul Hodge. Offensively, they nabbed a pair of wide receivers in Greg Jennings and Corey Rogers in the NFL Draft. The Pack will be much improved and is always dangerous with Favre at the controls. In all likelihood, this will the Green Bay legends last season. So dont miss out on this historic occasion. Snatch up Green Bay Packers tickets right now.

Brief history of the Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers were founded in 1919 by Curly Lambeau. Lambeau requested funds and uniforms from his employer, the Indian Packing Company who agreed as long as Lambeau used the team name to sponsor the company. They played their home games at Hagemeister Park. The Green Bay Packers team name in the oldest still in use in the NFL.

Financial hardship forced the team to disband in 1920 but found financial backers in 1921 which formed the Green Bay Football Corporation. The Packers are currently the only community owned major league professional sports team in the United States.

The Green Bay Packers joined the NFL in 1922 and began playing their home games in 1923 at Bellevue Park. In 1925, they began playing at City Stadium in Green Bay. For six seasons, the Packers were a respectable foe. In 1929, they won their first NFL Championship and followed that up with 2 more the following 2 seasons. The Packers won the last 3 NFL titles awarded on record alone.

In 1933, the Packers began playing 3 of their home games in Milwaukee's State Fair Park to increase their fan base. They splite games between Green Bay and Milwaukee's County Stadium for the next 60 years. The Packers did not move their entire home schedule to Green Bay until 1995.

Because the other owners in the league had threatened to force the Packers to move to Milwaukee if they did not improve Old City Stadium, the Packers built a new facility and began playing their in 1957. The new facililty was originally called 'New City Stadium' and it seated just 32,500 fans. In 1965, the Stadiums name was changed to Lambeau field after the death of their founder, Curly Lambeau. Seating capacity was in creased in 1965 and again in 1971 to 56,000. A renovation project in 2001 - 2003 increased the seating capacity to where it is today at 72,601. Lambeau Field is currently the longest continuously-occupied stadium in the NFL.

In 1959, the Green Bay Packers hired who is arguable considered the greatest coach in NFL History, Vince Lombardi. Lombardi took led the Packers to 5 NFL titles in a span of 7 seasons including the first 2 Super Bowls. The Green Bay Packers are the only team in NFL history to win 3 consecutive NFL titles and they have done this twice, once from 1929-1931 and once during the Lombardi era when compeition was much greater.

For about a quarter of a century after Lombardi left in 1967, the Green Bay Packers struggled to win games. Between 1968 and 1992, the Packers won 1 division title, appaered in the playoffs only twice and went through 5 different head coaches including Hall of Fame Packers, Bart Starr and Forrest Gregg. The Packers front office made 2 moves in the early 90s that would change the Packers destiny. They hired Mike Holgrem from the 49ers to be the head coach and they traded for QB Bret Favre from the Atlanta Faclons. In 1993, the Green Bay Packers were back in the NFL Playoffs and in 1997 the were back on the big stage winning Super Bowl XXXI over the New England Patriots 35-21. They returned to the Super Bowl the next season but lost to the Denver Broncos. The Packers made 9 playoff appearances in the span of 11 seasons, winning six Division title, two NFC Championships and one Super Bowl. The Green Bay Packers currrently hold the NFL record for league championships with 12.

The Packers once again fell on hard times in 2005, finishing in last place in their division with a 4-12 record. In an era of free agency, rebuilding the team could take less than a year but regardless how long it takes the Green Bay Packers to return to glory, Packer fans are faithful and they will not see a reduction of ticket sales despite the teams won/loss record.
