Rob Thomas has said that he always wanted to tell stories, and with Matchbox Twenty hes gotten his chance and put it to excellent use. Thomas was born in Germany, and raised in South Carolina where he was the lead for a few bands in high school before dropping out and moving to Florida in his teens. There he met up with Brian Yale and Paul Doucette with whom he formed Tabithas Secret along with some other members.

After a few years, Thomas, Yale and Doucette, decided to strike out on their own and recruited Kyle Cook and Adam Gaynor. This was the recipe for success and they were soon signed to Atlantic Records. There Matchbox Twenty released their first CD You or Someone Like You, which didnt immediately get much air play. However, after extensive touring to get their sound heard, the single Push started moving up the charts and the rest is history. The band has just come out with a new album, Exile on Mainstream, which is their fourth studio album. Matchbox Twenty will be going on tour to promote this new album in 2008. This is a band that just gets better every time, so dont miss your chance to see them in action!
