Packed into Mile High Stadium, the fans holding Denver Broncos tickets now have a new argument. Should the Broncos stick with Jake Plummer, whos been a solid if not spectacular quarterback or throw first round draft choice Jay Cutler into the huddle and shake things up? While Cutler, whose stock soared in the months leading up to the 2006 NFL draft, may see some playing time, expect the Broncos to stick with a proven product in Plummer and let Cutler develop without pressure. Bigger news is the blockbuster deal Denver got for disgruntled Green Bay wide receiver Javon Walker. The Broncs nabbed this top of the line player for a second round draft pick, providing Plummer with an instant down field threat. Head coach Mike Shanahan solved his tight end problem with the selection of Tony Scheffler out of Western Michigan. Scheffler has the size (65, 255) and the speed to bury or outrun linebackers. Shanahan has done it again. Hes made Denver Broncos tickets a stunning bargain.

A brief history of the Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos were among the original 8 teams that formed the American Football League in 1960. When the NFL and AFL merged in 1970, the Broncos became apart of the AFC Western Division. The Broncos played their home games at Mile High Stadium from 1960 - 2000. The Broncos were owned by Edgar Kaiser and their first head coach was Frank Filchock.

The Denver Broncos failed to produce a winning season during the decade of the 1960s. They went through five different head coaches searching for a winning formula. John Ralston was hired to coach the team in 1971 and the fortunes of the Denver Broncos began to tilt in their favor. The Broncos produced their first winning season in 1973 and finished second in the AFC West 4 straight seasons under Ralston.

In 1977, the Denver Broncos hired Red Miller to be their head coach and Miller led the Broncos to their first Division title and playoff appearance that same season. Since the Broncos found success in 1977, they have been one of the most consistent teams in the NFL. The Broncos rode a 12-2 1977 season mark all the way to Super Bowl XII which they lost to the Dallas Cowboys 27-10.

The Denver Broncos reached the playoff each of the next two seasons but failed to win a single playoff game on both occasions. Red Miller departed after the 1980 season and the Broncos hired Dallas Cowboy coordinator, Dan Reeves as its new head coach. The Broncos failed the reach the playoffs the first two seasons under Reeves but returned in 1983.

Dan Reeves led the Denver Broncos to the 5 AFC West titles during the 80s and early 90s. The Broncos made three trips to the Super Bowl in a span of four seasons under the guidance of Reeves and the arm of quarterback John Elway. Each trip to the Super Bowl ended in sour fashion for the Broncos as they were soundly beaten on all three occasions.

The Denver Broncos replaced Dan Reeves in 1993 with defensive coordinator Wade Phillps and although the Broncos made the playoffs their first season under Phillips he was fired after only two seasons. The Broncos then hired ex Raider head coach Mike Shanahan to be their 11th head coach.

Mike Shanahan led the Denver Broncos to back to back Super Bowl Championships in 1997 and 1998. The Broncos defeated the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XXXII for their first NFL Championship and returned the next season and beat the ex coach, Dan Reeves and the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl XXXIII for the second NFL Title. John Elway retired after the back to back Super Bowl titles and the Denver Broncos slipped from their crest at the to of the NFL.

The Denver Broncos failed to make the Playoffs 3 out of the next 4 seasons but have since made three straight trips to the playoffs including a AFC West division title in 2005. The Broncos won their first playoff game since the departure of John Elway in 2005 when they beat the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots I the divisional round of the playoffs. They lost the AFC Championship the next week to the eventual Super Bowl Champion Pittsburgh Steelers.

With the success of the 2005 season, Denver Broncos football tickets have been hot items on the Colorado sports scene. All of the Bronco fans expect to see the Denver Broncos back in the NFL Playoffs at seasons end.
