This year will be a great one for baseball, and Los Angeles Angels tickets will be in high demand! Back in 2002 they were on top of the world with their win of the World Series. Manager Mike Scioscia has plans of reliving that win again this year.

No matter how many different names and locations the Angels use, one thing is for certain: Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim tickets deliver one of the top teams in all of baseball. The Angels are one of the top squads in the American League and a bona fide World Series contender. They are bolstered by a steady pitching staff that includes Bartolo Colon, John Lackey and hard-throwing Kelvin Escobar. The Angels are no slouches at the plate, either. The dynamic Vladimir Guerrero is a threat to go deep each time he steps to the plate, while Chone Figgins and Garret Anderson are the perfect table setters. This makes the Angels a very dangerous team as we head down the stretch run. This also makes Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim tickets a huge bargain, providing baseball fans with tons of bang for their buck.

In 1998, Angel Stadium underwent a $100 million renovation and now provides seating for more then 45,000 fans. This renovation has seen the stadium converted into a baseball only venue.

Be sure to get out and cheer on the team as the Los Angeles Angels travel the road to the World Series in 2007. Order your Angles tickets today get out into the action!

A brief history of the Los Angeles Angels

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, as they are known today, began playing in the American League in 1961 as an expansion team. The original owner of the Angels was former movie Cowboy, singer and actor Gene Autry. Autry named his new team the Los Angeles Angels. Bill Rigney was the Angels first manager and they played their home games at Wrigley field in Los Angeles in 1961. The Angels played at Dodger Stadium from 1962-1965 and opened their new home stadium in Anaheim in 1966.

The Los Angeles Angels floundered on the field for its first 20 seasons. The team officially changed their name to the California Angels in 1965 with its anticipated move to Anaheim in 1966. Despite the name change and new venue, the Angels continue to be American League door mats. After 18 seasons of sub par play and 9 different managers, the Angels finally found their way out of the American League cellar by winning the Western Division Championship in 1979. Behind manager Jim Fregosi and players like Rod Carew, Don Baylor and Nolan Ryan, the Angels made the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. The Angels won the division again in 1982 with a franchise high 93 wins. In 1986, the Angels won their 3rd division title but lost in the first round of the playoffs for the third straight time.

After the 1986 season, the Angels went back to their old ways of loosing. The Angels failed to make the post season from 1987 through 2001. In 1997, under a stadium renovation agreement with the city of Anaheim, the Angels formally changed their name again, this time to the Anaheim Angels. In 2002, the Angels reached new heights as a franchise. The Angels reached the post season as a Wild card team in 2002, finishing second in their division to the Oakland As. They beat the Yankees in the division playoffs and then they beat the Minnesota Twins in the American League Championship series for their first pennant. The Angels faced the San Francisco Giants in the 2002 World Series and outlasted the Giants 4 games to 3 for their first and only World Series title. The 2002 Angels were led by manager Mike Scioscia and All Star players like Troy Glaus, David Eckstein, Garret Anderson, Tim Salmon and Jarrod Washburn. The Angels have maintained their competitiveness throughout the new millennium. The Angels won division titles in both 2004 and again in 2005. Both of these post season trips resulted in first round playoff losses.

The Angels were renamed again in 2005. This time they included two cities in their new name. Their new name is the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The team now owns the longest team name in Major League Baseball. The Current Angels team is owned by a group led by Arturo Moreno. They play their home games at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Angel stadium was built in 1966 but was renovated in the late 90s and is a state of the art facility that seats over 45,000 baseball fans. The Angels are currently managed by Mike Scioscia who has been the manager since 2000. Scioscia, with stars like Vladimir Guerrero, Garret Anderson, Orlando Cabrera and Ervin Santana led the 2006 Angels to an 89-73 record and second place in the American League West. The Angels just missed the playoffs in 2006 but expectations are still high in Anaheim. The Angels will again be a contender for the 2007 American League West division as well as the 2007 World Series Championship. 2007 Angel tickets are sure to be hot items this coming season.
