Michael Buble Information Michael Steven Buble was born on September 9, 1975 in Burnaby, British Columbia, to a Canadian-Italian fisherman. When his parents were away fishing for salmon, he lived with his grandfather. He was strongly influenced by his grandfather's record collection of hits from the 1940s and 1950s. He decided he wanted to be a singer just like the crooners he loved to listen to. He began his professional music career singing the songs of his "idols", two of who were Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra, in the local clubs and bars. He also recorded three independent albums from 1996 to 2002, one of which was dedicated to his grandfather. Michael Buble's career breakthrough came in 2000. A friend of Brian Mulroney (ex-Canadian Prime Minister), Michael McSweeney, attended one of Bubl's performances. He then sent one of Michael Bubl's albums to Mr. Mulroney. Mr. Mulroney, in turned, invited Buble to sing at his daughter's wedding. While at the wedding he was introduced to David Foster, an executive at Warner Brothers Records. David offered Buble his first recording contract and became his producer. In 2003, Buble's first studio album was released, "Michael Buble". It hit the top ten in Canada and the United Kingdom and number one in Australia. He won the "New Artist of the Year" Award at the 2004 Juno Awards (the Canadian Grammys). His second studio album, "It's Time" released in 2005, rocketed him to international superstardom. He won four Juno Awards for it and its songs. Although, he is mostly a cover artist (does not sing his own songs), he has co-written two love songs; both which became number one hits. "Home", released 2005, was dedicated to his former fiance Debbie Timuss. His current number one hit "Everything" is dedicated to his current girlfriend, Emily Blunt. He has been nominated for two Grammys for his current album, "Call Me Irresponsible". During his career, he has appeared in several TV shows and movies, notably "Duets". He is now on a worldwide tour until June 2008; so get your Michael Bubl tickets while you still can.
