Dierks Bentley Information Dierks Bentley was born in Phoenix, Arizona on November 20, 1975. He was named after his grandmother, who was born a Dierks. He is a country music singer/songwriter. He became interested in country music when he listened to a friend's recording of Hank Williams Jr.'s song "Man to Man", while he was still in high school. He played in local shows, until he was discovered by Capitol Records in 2003. His first single, "What Was I Thinkin", hit number one on the country charts. He now has had five number one hits. Dierks' last two albums, "Modern Day Drifter" 2005, and "Long Trip Home" 2006, also reached number one.
